Coverage: | 7-9㎡ x 2 coats / litre on non-absorbing surfaces, but relatively lower on rough and absorbing surfaces. This information is only intended as a guide. The actual coverage will depend on the substrate texture, absorption rate, construction methods, and many other factors. |
Preparation: |
The surface to be painted must be clean, dry and free of grease, dust and fibres. New walls: No painting should be done until at least 4 weeks after erection. Unpainted surfaces: Remove all dirt and dust. Fill cracks and holes with a suitable filler if necessary, and sand the dried surface. Remove sanding dust. Prime with Optiva Primer. Previously painted surfaces: Wash down previously painted surfaces with a cleaning agent, rinse carefully and let dry. Remove loose, flaking paint with a scraper. Treat moulded walls with a suitable mould removing solvent and then rinse with water. Sand hard or glossy surfaces to a matt finish and remove sanding dust. Fill holes and cracks with a suitable filler and sand the dried surface. Prime the surface with Optiva Primer before coating. |
Painting: | Stir Optiva Matt 5 well before use and thin with up to 10% of water, if necessary. Apply two finishing coats by brush, roller or spray. Painting should be done on a dry wall at a ROOM temperature above 5℃ and a relative humidity below 80%. Normally touch-dry in 1/2 hour and recoatable after 2 hours at a temperature of 23 ℃ and a relative humidity of 50%. Freshly painted walls should be carefully protected at least in the first 2 weeks. |
Environmental and waste disposal | Empty tins should be recycled or disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Liquid waste should be destroyed according to the local regulations. |
Storage | Protect from frost. Any remaining paint can be preserved for future use with the cap placed back on. |
Shelf Life | 3 years with the cap still intact. The expiry date is marked on the tin. |
